Photo Booth

November 26th, 2011

Steven headed out last night with the Photo Booth to the first of the christmas party nights being held at The  Macdonald Cardrona Hotel.  With few photo booths in Scotland there was great interest surrounding  it.  Groups of workmates and friends took advantage of the service, having fun with the props provided and going away,  within a few minutes,  with a print in hand.

Mellerstain Wedding

October 28th, 2011

Harry and I always feel it is a privilege  to be involved in a couple’s wedding day – this certainly was true of our latest one.   Rachel who is Scottish, and Jose who is Argentinian, married at Mellerstain House in the Borders.  Their story is certainly one of true love.  Rachel walked into an Art Gallery in Argentina while on holiday.  She met Jose who spoke no English but managed, through an interpretor, to invite her to view his film, showing in the gallery.  At the end she kissed him.  A few days later she emailed her mother to say she was not coming home.   Two years or so later they married.

summer weddings in the rain!

July 17th, 2011

The last two weeks have proved ‘challenging’ in the usual scottish weather.  However both Saturday weddings have fortunately been held at locations that are lovely both inside and out – always a benefit for the photographer.

Hayley and Liam married at Ednam last saturday (fortunately for us at 12 mid day)  and held their wedding reception at Dryburgh.  A brief stop off at Scotts View on the way there,  prior to the rain coming on, allowed us to capture one or two outside shots.  The rest were done inside the hotel at Dryburgh.

Yesterday we were at Abbotsford House for Lisa and Mark’s Wedding.  Again the heavens opened but what a  location, inside, to be forced to use due to the weather!!!!

I was fortunate enough to be at my niece’s wedding (Lisa Ainslie) on 16th july at Abbotsford house. It was a thouroughly enjoyable day, despite the weather. The photos were the best wedding photos i have ever seen. I used to live in Galashiels, & on my return home, (i now live in England), i was feeling a bit homesick, & brought out my book of Galashiels, which turned out to be written & photographed by Sheila Scott. Congratulations on your magnificent work.

  2. Sheila says:

thank you very much for your kind comments. Lisa was a stunning bride to photograph. Pleased you like the book.
